What is the average class size at GLUA Schools?

Our average class size is 20 students, with a student-teacher ratio of 12:1. This allows for personalized attention and tailored instruction to meet each student's needs.

What is the homework policy?

We follow a balanced homework approach that reinforces learning without overwhelming students. Generally, students can expect 10 minutes per grade level per night (e.g., 30 minutes for 3rd grade, 60 minutes for 6th grade).

What extracurricular activities are offered?

We offer over 30 extracurricular activities including sports teams, robotics club, debate team, art programs, music ensembles, theater productions, and various academic clubs.

What are the school hours?

Regular school hours are from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Early drop-off is available from 7:00 AM, and after-school programs run until 6:00 PM.

How do I access the grade portal?

The grade portal can be accessed through our website's parent portal section. You will need your unique login credentials. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" link or contact the administration office for assistance.

Who is my child's guidance counselor?

Guidance counselors are assigned by grade level. You can find your child's counselor listed in the parent portal or by contacting the guidance office directly. Generally, Mrs. Johnson handles grades 9-10, and Mr. Davis handles grades 11-12.

How do I report my child's absence?

Please call the attendance line at (123) 456-7890 before 8:30 AM on the day of absence. You can also report absences through the parent portal or via email to attendance@gluaschools.edu.

When are tuition payments due?

Tuition payments are due on the 1st of each month. A grace period until the 5th is provided. Late fees will be applied after the 5th. Payment can be made online through the parent portal or in person at the finance office.

How do I get a peer tutor?

Peer tutoring is available through the Academic Support Center. Stop by room 205 to schedule sessions with a peer tutor. You can also request a tutor through the student portal under the "Resources" tab.

Where is the writing center located?

The writing center is located in room 312 in the humanities wing. It's open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. No appointment is necessary, but signing up in advance guarantees you a time slot.

How do I join a club or sports team?

Information about clubs and sports teams is available in the student activities office. Most clubs welcome new members throughout the year, while sports teams have tryouts at the beginning of each season.

What resources are available for exam preparation?

The school offers several exam preparation resources including study groups, review sessions with teachers, practice tests in the library, and online resources accessible through the student portal. See your teacher or guidance counselor for specific resources for your exams.
